From Sam Hamill's translations, Crossing the Yellow River:

Letter Smuggled in a Fish

Your letter unfolds and unfolds forever.
I flatten it with my hands to read:

tearstains, tearstains and a trace of rouge
where it must have touched your cheek.

Yuan Chen (779-831)

I know you are only supposed to love people and not things, but damn I love that book. Crossing the Yellow River, that is.
