Meanwhile, there are still all those folks rioting outside the recruiting stations to go to Iraq, and all the folks lining up at the IRS building to pay the tab for the Iraq war. I love it when people vote with their feet.

Nope. The man was evil, I won't hesitate to say that, but in his waning years, he seemed to have lost most of his rational intellect, which makes the "feeling" of what his death means significantly less impactful.
I've supported the death penalty- in extreme cases- most of my life, but I have to wonder whether a more fitting punishment for Saddam would have been to simply let him live.

I have wondered that same thing. It seems the worst punishment for those who have abused unrestricted power is to sit in a jail cell without any hope of recovering a normal life.
