Where is Iraq?

From Reuters:

Fewer than 4 in 10 Americans aged 18-24 in a survey could place Iraq on an unlabeled map of the Middle East, a study conducted for National Geographic found. Only about one-quarter of respondents could find Iran and Israel on the same map.

Isn't this the same pool from which assemble our all volunteer military? The same military who overwhelmingly believes that we invaded Iraq because Saddam was involved with the 9/11 attacks?

Even if we win, we're doomed.

epm,

It is a war that in most people's minds does not need to be fought in or paid for. The poll results don't surprise me at all.

No, I'm not surprised by the poll. Just slightly disheartened.

We're so far from Jefferson's ideal of an educated electorate... A shame really. We have an electorate that willfully clings to myth and phobias rather than confronting our problems head-on.

I wonder where we'll be as a nation in 50 years?
