What Block?

Each time I feel I have writer’s block I read one of my favorite Raymond Carver poems.
Sunday Night

Make use of the things around you.
This light rain
Outside the window, for one.
This cigarette between my fingers,
These feet on the couch.
The faint sound of rock-and-roll,
The red Ferrari in my head.
The woman bumping
Drunkenly around in the kitchen . . .
Put it all in,
Make use.

Sometimes I will never understand this computer. I posted a comment here the other day - or thought I did, but it is nowhere in sight. Don't know where it went.

I do love this poem too. I passed it on to a number of people after you passed it on to me a while ago, and I go back to it again and again. Thanks for sharing it again.

Loved the Wang An-shih poem too.

Cuppa,

Thanks. There's a number of poems I find very consoling, and this is definitely one I come back to. Glad you liked Wang An-shih.
